Reflect upon what the video says about the field of photography. In your own words summarize what the video is about. What's the message?

How specific photographers create images, and your opinions of that photographer's work.

Also write about how those things could or would impact your own photographs.

Compare to your reflection you wrote on Friday. How are the two Similar? How are they different?

Lisa Kristine: Photos that bear witness to modern slavery
1. The video speaks about the powers of photography to tell stories. IN this case, photography is used to illuminate the plights of modern day slaves- by making people aware of the problem, they are compelled to take action. By making everyday people aware of the problem, slaves go from parts of statistics to human beings in the eyes of the audience. Kristine really emphasized the fact that these people had hopes and dreams that were being suppressed and subjated by their environments and masters.
2. This photographer seemed to used really high quality equipment to capture the scenes she was in. She took a large variety of images, some really close and crisp and some in a landscape fashion designed to give the viewer a sense of enormity. I feel, that besides the noble intent of the photographer to illuminate the stories of the people, the photos themselves are incredible. The black and white picture of the young man juxtaposed with the injured old mangave the viewer a sense of the passage of time in the scene and the inevitable struggle inherent in their situation. The picturess of the different colored hands was simply beautiful and moving.
3. I could create a variety of photos of meaningful subjectg matters. That's the key that I took from this talk. to enhance my own photos, I must select compelling subject matters. I have to go out of my way and shoot beautiful scenes; for instance, I've always planned to go hiking and take photos, but I never did. I've always planned to go out and use my go pro to take photos, but I never did. I think it's about time I go out and create something more compelling.
4.My previous reflection discussed the importance of different perspectives in photography, which partially includes the subject material. However, also perceive this as the same perspective change with the triptych and an angle change. This, I feel is much more focused on finding asubject matter that personally interests. However, both simultaneously will definetely create the best photos.
