Artist Statement:

I make art in order to capture the whimsicality and beauty of everyday experiences. My art is uniquely my perspective, and every individual’s pictures are uniquely theirs. Each picture makes up a memory, a checkpoint to look back on and remember fondly. What inspires me is that ability, the way that I can capture a moment and make it beautiful or sad, poignant or brief. Being a part of and holding that experience makes it all worthwhile.

My camera lens captures the raw scene, and then I enhance my pictures, either by lending them my perspective or altering them in Photoshop. When I do the latter, I’m able to put on a “mask” on top of my photo and add character. Art is a way to also create a reality that is uniquely your own. Photography allows me to take part in that. Art allows me to know myself on a deeper level as a result.
