Student Photoshop Tutorials: Review

The first tutorial I viewed was Ryan Howell's. It wwas very straight forward and simple. Its main purpose was to introduce the basic functionality of one photoshop tool. However, I feel like it could have benefited from discussing more tools. I learned how to use the Spot Healing Brush Tool, and I improved the sign.

The second was by Sasha. Her's was really cool in terms of the effect and great in terms of the quality and detail. While the process was simple, every step was meticulously and helpfully broken down. The Distort function can create some cool effects. In the end I learned how to create quality planets. I made an image out of an old photo I took from India.

The last was by Roya. While it was an interesting concept, the execution was a bit confusing. The tutorial didn't explain the brush tool, and because my default was set to a different setting than Roya's, I had to look up selective coloring in a supplementary tutorial. However, I did learn how to execute the technique, so that was good. My photo was of a pink monkey. I learned the use of layer masks and the color editing mode because of the other tutorial.
